Fullscreen without stretching

well, ive been noticing a lot of fullscreen flash websites popping up all over the place and ive noticed something about them that has really intrigued me…

the size of the embedded flash movie is set to 100% x 100%

but then when you look at it, the text doesnt stretch…

i was wondering how this works? how do you keep the text from stretching to fit the window?

heres an example: http://www.crashshop.com

I don’t think dynamic text will stretch no matter what size the movie is stretched out to. I could be wrong though.

you mean to tell me, nobody has the answer?? thats hard to believe…
lostinbeta? i know you know man…you always know…hehe

I know what you mean and I’ve been wondering the answer to this question myself. I really like how http://www.lunabean.com made their top navagation bar the width of the window. I really want to know how to do that.

The nav on that lunabean site is all vector so it can be stretched out with out being pixelated. If it contained rastered images then that would be a different story.

well, thats the right idea, but not quite the effect im looking for…

i need to try out the dynamic text deal…thats something i havent thought of…

thanx…

but are there any other ideas or schools of thought?
c’mon guys…

brb… trying to whip up an example (if I can that is)

i knew it…
hes at it again…
im rooting for ya beta…

more like prayin…
best of luck, and thanx

Ok, I got it, the key to having the no-stretch text is to set the stages scaleMode property to “noScale”

I added a few little extras from the site that you might find useful (like relative positioning instead of static positioning)

Check out my attachment to see it in action…

well, quite simply…
i knew it…
beta…
you ARE THE MAN

as always.

blessings.

freakin genius…
sorry, i just really like what you did there, very nice.
thanx…hopefully, in the near future i can show you what i did with it…

lol, well not really, but thanks

Just glad I could help.
