getURL(pdf) won't launch in Firefox?

Okay this is odd. I have built a document catalog in Flash MX that launches pdf files from a button click using getURL (because the fscommand thing for launching acrobat reader never worked for me :frowning: ). Anyway, it works great if the user has IE as their default browswer :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: but I use Firefox (joy!) and have convinced others at work to use Firefox (double joy!) BUT the pdfs will NOT open up in Firefox! :scream: Instead I get something weird - a double tabbed window. The first tab just stays blank and says “untitled”. The second tab launches a NATO webpage? (http://www.nato.int/science/calendar/calendar.htm)

I mean, what the heck? :h:

I am hoping some genius out there who loves Firefox will tell me that it is as simple as inserting a line of code in my header somewhere. By the way, this whole project is launched as an exe so there is no html page associated with it. Hope that’s not a problem . . .

:hr:

Can you normally open a pdf in firefox without any trouble?

Yes
