I create a smiley using photoshop pro 8. I export it as a gif, preview it in the internet brower, and the pixels are fine. I import the impage into flash, it looks fine, but when I preview it the image is screwed up (ie. the outlining pixels are off or missing). I’ve tried to turn off the smoothing on the gif, set it at whole x and y coordinates, and out of desperation set my jpeg quality to 100 hoping it would make some difference. Still the picture is screwed.
Anybody know why?
Also, does anyone know of good tutorials on how to make smileys, or any of that pixel art stuff so it works out. The kind of pixel art you see laying around kirupa all the time.
If you pull out the ruler in photoshop pro you will notice that the ruler itself is off by a .1 of a pixel when against the page. I know, that sounds weird, N E ways, heres what you do, create whatever in photoshop to perfection, and when you take it into flash set the coordinates to something like x=5.9 and y=4.9. It has to be _.9 in order to compensate for the interval variance.
thx i remeber having that same problem. i would draw an image with a straight line on photoshop, export it to flash, and it would look fine but in the preview the line would be a little choppy.
