Go to and play a layer?

Is it possible to gotoandplay a scene? I ahve NO idea what soever on this subject. I looked at the kirupa full flash apge for reference but i just could not figure it out! I am trying to make something beable to go to a scene, and then from there go to a scene, back to a scene, etc. I know this may be beating a dead horse, but please help me!
