Random question. I searched my name and my web portfolio name on google for the heck of it just now…normally my site comes up at the #2 or #3 spot searching my name and Thinkpoint. However, now nothing comes up except for my 2-3 year old blog… Not very helpful of course.
However, I know Google just changed how they list search rankings, and I just released a new version of my portfolio with new META data I think…could that be a reason why its not listed? Anyone have any idea?
It’s not critical to me, but its interesting to figure out why this happened.
Have all the links in your old blog point to your new site. Set up a redirect, use Google web master tools to submit a sitemap of your new site to them. Look around everywhere online for any links pointing to your old site, change them accordingly. Those are just some of the things you can do to change your status with Google.
I have not many link on my site but i have some “important” text that i use as meta data.
For example my site www.anfex.it has got text where is the word “anfex” so when google crawl my site,
it finds my site at the first position with the word “anfex” and i would like to tell you that there are other site that contain that word.
