Greets,
I would like some advice on how to optimize a new flash project. The Flash site is an interactive ‘comic book’ dedicated to the gamer community for EVE-Online which can be view here >

The project comprises 1 loader site then 6 loaded movies for each chapter of the story with the dialog being the central aspect of the expereince. To facilitate effective timing between scenes and animations I have put the dialog on the main timeline on a separate layer to test timing and adjust to other element. Although this has given me a good feel for dramatic transitions of the story I am now left with timelines that are well over 400 frames on some movies and navigation is very time consumming to change whenever the movie is altered.
I need to streamline the site and develop plug and play components for each major elements (dialog, navigation and scene animation) and see ActionScript as the best means to achieve this.
How can I shorten each movie length with a script that can be used to adjust timing between dialog sequences. Ideally I want each dialog sequence to be in a single frame and a timer value set before advancing or when the entire dialog is set as its own movie clip and the next sequence is trigered by an event on the main timeline (either set period of time, navigation event, or specific event on teh main timeline).
Feedback and suggestions gladly appreciated.
