hey everyone. new to the forums here.
I’m having issues with a stock Dreamweaver CS3 JS menubar plugin and a thrid-party jQuery plugin, but only in IE. I seem to have no issues in Chrome/Firefox. I haven’t been able to test IE (pre version 8), Opera, Yahoo, etc. The issues I’m describing pertain only to IE as that’s as far as my tests have gone.
Issue 1: The menubar at the top of my page has all kinds of undesired behavior on the menu items that have multiple sub-items. the best way for me to explain it would be for you to load the page in IE and Chrome/Firefox. what I see in Chrome/Firefox is the desired behavior/format.
Issue 2: the third-party jQuery plugin (nivo-slider) i’m using is an auto scrolling image carousel, that again, works properly in Chrome/Firefox. It displays only the background image in IE and none of the scrolling images render.
I don’t expect anyone to troubleshoot these plugins for me as i’m fairly confident this is a small fix considering it works exactly to the desired parameter in 2 major browsers.
What I would like to ask, is if someone would be willing to see if there is anything wrong you can see with my overall markup. the support page for the nivo-slider plugin has mentioned issues/fixes for IE8/9, however, I believe they address their paid WordPress plugin, not their open-source jQuery-only plugin that i’m using.
here is the link to the website i’m working on. please feel free to offer any critique you can. the issues i’m describing pertain specifically to index.html.
