Hi board, allow me to introduce myself.

I stumbled upon this forum and from what I’ve read so far the tone seems to be a lot more fun than the other mega-serious forums I post on (not naming any names), so I thought I’d join!
Right, now for my first question.
I’ve found a few people with the same problem on other forums but no satisfactory response yet.
I’ve got a load of dynamic textfields loading text form external text files. I want to be able to type in the width and height of the field, without it skewing or stretching the text inside…at the moment although all the text fields are set for Verdana, size 14, the text is of inconsistent size from one field to another.
I know you can use AS createTextField and size and position it, but I don’t want to do it this way for various reasons.
Anyone got any ideas on this? I can resize it by dragging round the handles as usual, but it’s hard to get it the exact size you want it (and I’m anal as hell, can’t put up with 599.2 if I want 600.)
