I don’t really get the hype around this game, but the City Town bit looks way more “actual place to hang out” than the base island stuff. Nintendo really knows how to sell me on vibes I won’t have time to play.
Same, the island part always felt like a cute waiting room to me, but the City Town shots look like they finally added little “destinations” you can loop through without it all blurring together. I’ll probably buy it, play for two nights, then go back to being an adult with 900 tabs open.
“cute waiting room” is painfully accurate lol — those City Town shots with the little storefront-y streets actually look like places you’d head to on purpose instead of just vibing around, do you know if they’re adding any kind of repeatable loop there (like errands/dailies) or is it mostly just a new area to wander? not sure, might be wrong.
Those “storefront-y streets” shots look almost too tidy — I’m a little worried it’s basically a theme-park facade unless the shops actually do something (rotating stock, little errands, whatever). Have the devs said anything concrete about repeatable loops in City Town, or is it mostly just a new zone to wander around in? I might be wrong here.
Those “new area, new characters, new quests” blurbs you mentioned are all I’ve seen too, and yeah, that tidy main street screenshot has big “set dressing” energy — have they actually confirmed anything like rotating shop stock or daily errands in City Town?
