HELP different preloader question

i’m trying to create a preloader in which a logo fills up vertically…i understand there’s another thread on this type of topic but my problem is that it doesn’t fill while the file loads…i used the preloader percentage bar kirupa tutorial thing and changed the registration point on loadBar to bottom center and switched the _width to _height and made the preloader frame a mask over the symbol…my problem is that the entire file just loads when you go to the site…blank screen that takes forever to load…i don’t understand how to get the preloader to play while the rest of the movie loads…help please help help
