Help from ppl who've made games

ok i am making a platform game this question isn’t about scripting though this is about graphics my question is if i make a character with every part of the body a movie clip will it lag?I am adding a lot of characters(maybe 10) so i dunno. if it probably would lag how should i animate the characters? plz help
