so i created a bitmap image with the design for an entire font. Now i was about to create each character in fontographer when i had a brilliant idea, maybe there’s a program that can convert a bitmap into a ttf file.
So if anyone knows of any program that can take a bitmap and turn it into a ttf, please let me know! :thumb:
As I know, bmp, is a raster format, so I dont know if it is possible to convert it to a ttf file…and also…I am not sure if u can convert any vector formats like eps or ai too for that matter. There are softwares that convert ttf to dxf formats but the vise versa…not sure man
I know of the program scanfont by FontLab but it altered each character a lot. This program does convert monochrome bitmap images into a ttf but i found it didn’t work well (at least for small pixel fonts).
streamline is a pretty good program, but for something like scanning raster pixel fonts into vector… I don’t think it would work very well. My experience with streamline is that the resulting vectors need alot of cleaning up afterwards… might be just as easy to create the vectors from scratch!
you can use trace bitmap in flash. there is a pixel setting which will preserve it perfectly, but once its in flash i dont know about how to get it to other programs.
