Help! Links don't work under transparent wmode swf

Hi there,

My links don’t work under a transparent wmode swf… Take a look at [link removed]. Can somebody help me please?

Before using a transparent wmode swf for the navigation bars, I used html and layers for the dropdown menus, that resulted in weird alignments and looked even funnier in Firefox. I thought I’d solved it by using the transparent swf, but now this!

Seems to work fine for me, plus I viewed it in Firefox, and it didn’t look off.

Works great for me too (Safari 2.0, FP8)

He’s talkin about the links in the image attached here… to which you wouldn’t know that it’s html because yes… html under flash is disabled, and not selectable or able to be interacted with.

We discussed this about 1 1/2 yrs ago and I’m pretty sure that there is no solution. Although your site is more than simple enough to execute it in completely HTML

ahh…i completely miss that…good eyes. And simplstik is right. :trout:

Yeah… I suggest using xhtml/css as an alternative to Flash.

altho i do agree that you can pull this off w/ html/js/css i came accross this site a while ago … haven’t figured out how they do it. i think its JS+Flash

Um… where? I don’t see it being used anywhere. Maybe it’s just broken in Camino.

Why are the words “broken” and “Camino” always found in the same sentence?..

Last time it was Omniweb. And… actually Camino uses Gecko, the same as Firefox and Mozilla. So, it would be broken in those, too.

Okay, so I’ve now used javascript and css to make the dropdown menus. Got the code from some website… But Firefox still has that weird alignment with the bottom navigation menus. Take a look:

Also, with the way that I did it, it means that if I want to make changes to one of the img src of the buttons or the links for the buttons with no menus, I’d need to alter it in each file.

I know there’s a way to have the code in a separate file, to make changes easy, but I’m not sure how to write it. Right now, I already have a separate .js file for the dropdown menu. I’m not very good with coding/scripting so I apologize in advance if I exude any denseness.

And I’ve not yet included the preloader for the flash, so sorry about that.

I’m a girl by the way.

You’re still using Flash on the page… :frowning:

Yeah, but only on the index page… The client wants that, what can I do about that? Are you sure you’re looking at the right version? I gave a new link:

Sorry forgot to mention it only works in IE, but i’m sure fixable for Gecko. When browsed w/ IE you’ll see the left menu is flash and the popups are also flash.

… anywho :egg:

Still works like a million in Safari

Well, then you’re still using tables.

What’s up with that?

Aye… Cos it’s the easiest way for me at the moment.

… but… but…!
