I did this tutorial that worked out great

I would now like to put this into a flash project as a single movie clip as I have alot of other things tweening on the stage.
I have tried to create a new mc in a new flash document and carry out the steps in the tutorial but it doesn’t work, could this be something to do with the AS?
Limited understanding of AS so please be gentle
