I need to know how to make a movie with a picture sliding in the background but I also need to have static text on the foreground, is this possible, are there any tutorials or help available on how to do this?

if you take a look at the tutorials on kirupa.com, you will find tutorials on basic motion tweening (which you need for the sliding).
you can do it like this:
- import the image you want into flash.
- create motiontween on the image. how to do this, see: http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/motiontween.htm
- add a new layer with your text on it.
and please, for your future reference, use meanful titles, like “Sliding image & static text”. you see, almost everyone that post a new thread in these forums need help, so you don’t have to write it in the title…
