hope you all are in good health…
well i am not new at webdesigning but i dont know nothing about forms (registration, contact page and so on), cgi/asp, i can design a form and know the naming procedure too.My brother and hosting ppl take care of that, i am more of an animator/designer then developer. I need to start from a scratch on that, validation, connection and whatever there is to learn about forms. Can anyone Guide/Help me please?

You need to know everything from creation of the tags to verifying information and then passing it on?
Are you using PHP perchance?
well if you use Javascript and ASP it is rather easy. No need for a connection to a db at all. Which technology are you using?
yea i m talking about forms, registration, contact pages with backend as n.t and or linux servers, i am very unclear of the whole concept so sorry for my bad knowledge. I dont know any asp, cgi and have never touched php, will make an example tomorrow…
all i mean is that i know the designing thing but dont know how to get that form to work 
well research which one would be easier for you to get up to speed in. In my opinion it would be ASP and javascript. If you choose ASP I could help ya…PHP you may have to look elsewhere for help.
Backend for forms require one of those three… cgi, php or asp… The easiest to use is PHP out of the three of them…
And the code is very simplistic as well… UNless you need on the spot checking you won’t need JavaScript either…
But… We need to know what you want your form to be… TO be able to help.

and buddhamarz, will u teach me PHP, give me stuff to readon, try and so on… i am really serious about this.
buddhamarz, forms can have anything, like a registeration form or contact form, i generally dont do asp and other database type sites, but atleast one query and feedback form are part of every website, i am looking forward to start it from there and would love learning and doing more, a full fledge asp or database website, dynamic one u know 
I would do it in ASP… But you have to have ASP.net installed on your server… And that is a pain right now… Unless you have the recent IIS on it…
But… PHP is widespread… And I know ALOT about it… If you’d like any information on PHP… Just go to…
There are alot of things to read about on that site… Introduction Manual and an Online Manual… Now… For a database and the such… You would most likely want to stick with mySQL since it is the easiest… In that case… Find someone to help you out there… I don’t particularly like using mySQL… But it’s easier than the system I use so…

hhmmm marz why do you have to have .net? you can use regular CDONTS and and regular asp. But PHP is free so that would be a good choice.
cool buddhamarz, thanks for the info ones again, i will get in touch with u as soon as i reformat my p.c, i have been facing a weird problem since yesterday, i can browse websites, but not log on to yahoo or msn, i have cablenet… anyway i am gona get it fixed tomorrow and wil get in touch soon.

Because I only use .net now and not the old ASP… And I know a good bit has changed since then… So most of my info would be useless unless he was using .net

And some servers like mine, run both php and asp.
