HEy guys…
Here’s the story, my sis barowed my moms laptop (its an old school gateway, but runs very nicely)… she returned it and the thing is toast, so of course I get a call…
Anyway… it had winXP Home (upgraded from '98) on it. Now it won’t boot up at all. It says it cant find an operating system. I’ve tried making XP boot disks but to no end. I’ve restored all the default system settings, and still nothing. I’ve attached a screen shot of what it boots into. If you resume from this screen you get the “Operating System Not Found” message. I’d love to be able to restore the comp as my mom had all her email address on there, but if its toast I’d just like to wipe it clean and reinstall the XP OS. Any advice wold be of great help to me - this is DEFINITLY NOT my area of expertise.

PS. I have no idea what my sis did to it (I havent talked to her yet), but she is very computer dumb, and just goes to tons of trashy sites and downloads anything and everything so a virus might be the culprit. Also it is making some weird noises internally so she may have even dropped the thing?
