I Want to create a similar mouse trail effect as found here:

In the above the user get a feeling of “drawing” in a (kind of) controlled combination of strokes and dots, randomizing in size, according to how fast they are moving their mouse around the screen - and their drawing stays there for longer.
I have already followed the tutorial posted here:

But I do not know how to alter the script so its NOT JUST a colored smoke effect but actually feels more like the above!
Maybe someone know another tutorial? Please help…
