Help with Sound

Pls help. I have a movie where the video and sound both stop at th end, but then the sound continues to loop.
As far as I can tell, the sound is not set to loop.
Any ideas?
Thanks

are they on seperate layers?

Yes. They are on seperate layers. Each with their own stop.
Is it possible that something is wrong with the audio file?

have u timed the track to go as long as the animation?

Make sure you set the sound to “stream” and go to publish settings, you might have to play witht the audio settings eg set it to a higher rate, coz ur sample might be a better wuality than wat ur actually playing.

let me know.

by the way, that was me that wrote b4!

Thanks Dave,
Will check into it. Why should the audio settings cause the file to loop?

u sure its looping?
coz it might just keep playing and u think its looping. When the sample rate is diffrent to the rate set on flash, it will play diffrently, it wont start and finish when u want.

New question. I cut the audio file in Cool Edit, and that seemed to corrupt the file and cause it to loop. Once i returned to the original file, the music stopped where it was supposed to.
So…

  1. Anyone know why?
  2. Is there a way to edit the music file within Flash?

so you got it to work then?

you cant really edit in flash a sound file.

Only the original file works. the one I edited in Cool Edit does not.
How do I check the sample rates to see if they match up?

im not really sure, coz i have never used that program. I’m guessing though when u save the file or when u first open the file, it shouuld tell u the sample rate ur using or the quality of the mp3.

Do you know what the default sample rate is in Flash and how to find it?

go to File> Publish settings and play around with the sound options.

OK. Everything seems to be working now. I just want to add a fade out at the end. Can you advise?

click on the track and then in the sound properties box go to effects and select fade out. That should work

Dave,
Thanks for all your help. It seems that when I edited the file in Cool Edit, it caused problems in Flash.
Went back to the original file, and now all is working.

see if you can get a program called Sonic Foundry Sound Forge 6.0

I use that one and i never get problems with flash.

Glad u got everything to work!

Will do. thanks
