does anyknow how to convert a mpeg movie to a .mov so i can open it with flash and make it into a bunch of jpeg?

that website only tells you how to convert mpeg to .mov. I want to convert a mpeg movie to a .mov file. I heard that i need quictime pro to do that. is that true?
