nah… no as at all.
The stem is extended using a mask, first to reveal it, then later to make it disapear. The flowers blooming are done entirely with a frame by frame hand drawn animation.
Sometimes a/s is not a substitute for simple elbo grease.
Suga is a master of tweening and frame by frame… keep that in mind. Those sort of effects take some serious amount of time and effort, as anyone who has completed the ray of light tutorial can attest to.
