Hi all, I’m Stevo, new to here and also to Flash. I’m an intermediate user of other graphic packages and thought it was about time to try Flash…BTW…I’m using MX2004 Edu Actionscript 2, I believe its called.
What I am attempting
I am trying to make a scene that will follow the mouse curser from side to side and up and down also, this will include probably 3 layers, and the movement of the layers from the front backwards will slow down. This I hope will give me a kind of 3D perspective.
What I have done
So far, I have just looked all over the web at different tutorials and I have been directed to come here and ask the this question.
I found a tutorial on how to make a symbol follow the mouse back and forth and by changing some of the actionscript I was able to produce something similar to what I want to do…See the attached fla for a simple visual giude of what I’m trying to do.
The problems
The problems I am having with the above “follow” mouse technique are::
-
The image that follows the curser is not centered, the image trails to the right of the curser. I would like this to be centered if its possible.
-
The image will go far of the stage to the right when following the curser, but is retained on the left by the border of the movie. I would like the image to be able to scroll left and right, off the edges of the movie, an ammount specified by myself.
I did see an image a while ago that is simialr to what I am trying to do, alas, I cannot find it now…if I do I will post it so you have a clearer idea of what I need.
Can you offer any advice?
Stevo
