Horrible Lip sync problems

Gah…

ok, I’m making a ten mintue movie full of dialogue. I’ve got the voices synced to little mouth movements. All voices are set to Stream. When I publish the movie and watch it, the voices just keep getting more and more off sync as it goes. And eventually they cut off because in the sound layer they start late, encounter a keyframe, and stop.

I know it’s not my computer either, because I have a P4 2.2 Ghz. Now, I’ve made other movies that were synced to songs and they worked fine until the end… what’s my problem here :frowning: ???

if you are previewing it in flash, it’s probably b/c you have your “bandwith” set too low

Hi,
I just recently ran into this same dilemma, and came up with just what I was looking for. I’m assuming you’re using Event sounds, because Streaming would probably synch up properly, but sound horrible.

So assuming your voice tracks are Event sounds, here’s what you should try:

Create a new sound clip that is essentially 1 second of silence, and save it as a wav. Then in your Flash movie, add a new layer, and place that audio clip in the layer, looping it for the full length of the scene (just set the loop to 99 to be safe).

Now here’s the key: set the silent clip to Streaming. This will lock all of the other sounds in the scene to the movie by dropping frames to keep up with the sound…

Try it, it’s amazing!

Oops, just saw that you were using Streaming sounds to begin with, so maybe this won’t help you… Or who knows, maybe it’ll do the trick…

Well, that’s the thing… I wasn’t “previewing it” I published it early to test it. But I’ll try the silent sound thing to see if it works…

bandwith set too low? erm… what does that mean?

This happens to me a lot too!!:m: :a:

Please someone explain how to fix this. Sounds just go wacko when I export my movie! When I’m editing it in flash in its .fla it looks perfectly synced, but when I preview it and even export it to see it, it just doesn’t go in sync.

:-\

Ok… well I tried entering the “no sound” layer and stuff. This helped a lot to tell the truth, almost everything was perfect, except a lot of times the mouth animation stopped before the sound stopped. It’s not too bad though…

BUT

My movie was 930k published. when I added the 9k streaming silence sound and looped it, it bumped the size up to 1,400k!!!

why???

hmm, not sure about the file size issue. in your sound properties for the silent audio clip, make sure it’s set to mp3 compression at the lowest bitrate (8 kbps). you just need to double-click your silent wav in the library to bring up the sound properties. beyond setting compression, i’m not sure why the file size would bump up so much.

I had it set to mp3, but not the lowest bitrate… hmm well I’ll try that too.

Hey afro ninja, are u the same person that creates movies for NG?

Alright, problem solved… I set all sounds to event and added the streaming silence. Everything works perfect.

Still have the jump in file size, but I can live with it…

and yes, I am the same person that makes movies at NG

This is where I come for help

Awesome! Are you workin on a new movie??? Cause I havent seen something new from u for a looooong time.

BTW - Bobs Date was funny as hell.

I’m getting ready to release an LXG parody really soon. It has not too great graphics but it’s almost 13 minutes long so that makes up for it. Then after that I have all kinds of stuff I’m working on, like NGua3, a soad music video, installing car audio, among other things
