I know that it’s possible to do this (and by ‘this’ I mean set up a server at home and use it instead of buying hosting - because I’m a student and don’t know whether it’s worth spending money on something over time when I could just get a cheap server box thing (maybe…))
But I’d like to know how you get to do it.
I mean, how do you link it all up, is it as simple as installing Apache and RoR on a Mac? (or PC for that matter.), and then just linking it up to the net?
I’d like to know - although someone’ll probably tell me that servers are expensive.
