how can i blur backgrounds or foregrounds then swap between them? i want to create the effect of my characters face being in the foreground blurrde then ease the blur into the background while the face becomes sharper. anyone help ?

My suggestion would be to have the sharp image tween in using alpha.

hmmz u mean on 1 picture itself? u want to blur one portion of it then swap and blur another portion?
you would need to create two images (one with the background blurred and one with the foreground blured) and then use alpha to change which is showing.

It really depends on what images your are using. If they are drawings made in flash, then you can do as Jubba says, ib fr1 you need the blurred image tweening out to the sgharp one, and the sharp image tweening into a blur.
If you are using photographs, you should create the blurred image in something like photoshop, you will need to images of each subject, but you can still achieve the effect you want with tweening.
