How can I find out what my db_host is?

I’m trying to install Wordpress to play around with, but it won’t install.
I think I’ve filled out everything correctly.

My database is set to localhost and it tells me “there is a 99% chance you won’t have to change this”, but I’m on my school’s network, so is there a way for me to detect database hosts on my machine or do I need to talk to my network admin?

thanks:)

Network admin will have to tell you. The chance of him telling you is very low probably, so probably get him to set up another database for you would be easier. I don’t know many actual places that set theirs to localhost. Usually only private servers/test servers have theirs set to localhost.

(1and1.com for instance uses another place to manage their DB’s).

Eck, the more I learn, the more I learn I know nothing.

Also:
The thing is, I can already use .aspx (which probably means .php as well) on my site. So I think I have access to that kinda stuff. I just don’t know how to. asdfpjsadpfsadpfsd’afs jeez… I’ll get back to this in a while.

Well according to Socrates, true wisdom is knowing that you know nothing, so you are on your way! I must be some sort of sage…
