How can this be done?

I am trying to find any helpful tutorials or open sources on the portfolio for Gonzalo Olmos. Actually just the function of the images and how to load, place and call each one on stage.

I am not all that great with actionscript and XML but I would like to try and tackle this one. I haven’t found any relevent information anywhere so a point in the right direction would be most helpful.
