How Do I create a glossy material in 3DSM6?

If you take a look at the image I provided from 2advanced’s movie/demoReel - you’ll see I made 2 light circles pointing to what I’d like to make.

One is that glossy/reflectioned material of that ship.

One is that clayish material of that ships little circlular thingy.

Any ideas or tutorials on how this is done?

Any tutorials on using mental ray in 3DSM?
