How do I make fading text?

Hello, and if you haven’t noticed, I’m a newbie.

I’m wondering how I could make fading text. What I’m trying to accomplish is to have 10 blank frames in the beginning, and after that, some text SLOWLY fades in. I have no clue how to do that, and I have been trying for hours.

Now, instead of struggling, I came to ask here. So the question is:

How do you fade in text?

“Test Movie” still won’t work. I did exactly what you said, and it doesn’t play properly. All it shows are the 2 texts in 100% alpha, and nothing fades in or out.

This is pissing me off. “Play” works, but “Test Movie” doesn’t.
