How Do They Do That? - Flash Over HTML

Hi guys,

On the front of Yahoo you often see Flash in a window suddenly extends itself to other parts of the page, going over standard HTML text and images. How is this done?

At the moment they’re playing a Ford advert with Kermit the Frog in. If you click to ‘Watch Kermit’s Commercial’ you will see him rise.

I really want to know how this is done, as I’m creating a Flash drop down menu, but the rest of the page is in HTML. For the drop down menu to work it needs to be 250px in height so that the menu can drop down. But it’s is ridiculous to have a 250px space of nothingness between the menu and the HTML text. so I need to flash to dropdown over the rest of the standard HTML page.

Kermit Example:

Thanks guys to whoever can help!
