How to do these effects?

I was taking a look at Zen Festival Web Site from 2advanced and was thinking about how to do that menu effect?

I was told tha this is after effects? if so, what plugins were used to make all the buttons effects (HOME, tracks and the menu links itself)?

If someone knows any tutorials around about doing some effects similar to those, I would appreciate.
