How to make a Loading screen

Hello, I’m very new to making sites in flash so i greatly appreciate any help you can offer. I built the site in flash, published it to HTML and uploaded to my server. However if any of the buttons are clicked before the whole page is loaded the buttons do not work properly. I think i would fix this by making a preloader page? If i am right about that any tips on how to do that would be greatly appreciated. And if im wrong…how do i get around this problem?
