How to produce this effect?

i just surf to http://www.billz.ca/
this site is clean and clear, i like it very much.

it got a fading effect when you click on every page.
all things including text fade out slowly from above to bottom.
i just wonder how to produce this kind of effect?
can anyone tell me how to do it??

THANX!!

Why don’t you contact him and ask him?

actually i want to do that at first.
but seems asking questions in a forum may have more people’s idea and also can be learnt by other people, so i post it here.

and, can i do that effect to a dynamic text field with scroll bar??

if any one know these, please help.

Thanks.

I think this is it.

The text has been placed in a movie clip, then there is a mask going from top to bottom, with an opacity change happening at the same time!!

:cowboy:

hm… in this he designed, it says that he used swish 2.0 to do the effect on billz.ca …

cheers

Thanks Ahmed, make me look like crap!!

lol noo noo… i posted before i saw your post… but yeah, your way is actually better if you dont have/wanna use swish…

sorry:P:P

cheers

you just set a mask over the whole text paragraph.
on the mask, set the gradient from alpha “0” to white.
(if you’re making the effect go from top to bottom)
use the fill transform tool to adjust the left -> right gradient to top -> bottom. Then just tween that mask off the text…

oh… just wanted to add that this effect can be scripted too…

thanks for all replying, i’ll try it.
i just wonder if someone can script the effect:P

Thanx!!

a very simple effect in SWiSH, which he uses, just place a square over the text, add the move effect, and edit the transparency

Nope, masks can’t use gradients.

So it isn’t a mask. it is just a square or rectangle that has the gradient out. This might be UNDER a mask, but it is not the mask.

Just tween the gradient block to reveal the content.

i think this is the easiest way to do it and what lost mean. right, lost??
:stuck_out_tongue:

Precisely toh!
