How to put weather channel feed in flash

I have the java script from the weather channel that I used for weather feed in my html page . Now I made the site in flash and I was wondering , can I use the same java script or is there another way to get weather or news . I am fairly new to flash and don’t know anything about xml parsing ( I read alot of strings trying to answer my question … Help me please …
