Hperlinks in XML Slideshow

I am wondering if you can insert hyperlinks in the description section of the XML photo slide show w/ descriptions.

I tried using <a href=""></a> and <a href=""> &lt/a>

Neither of them worked. If anybody has any solutions i would appreciate it.
