I’m new to this whole ‘posting to forums’ thingy so you’ll have to excuse my behaviour. If I’m not doing it right, a nudge in the right direction is greatfully appreciated.
I’m hosting my own site on a WinXP machine running Apache and I’m trying to get .htaccess and .htpasswd to work - I can get other .htaccess commands to work, such as ErrorDocument 404 http://localhost/www/index.html, but when I try to password protect a folder it doesn’t work as it should, the browser produces a pop-up username and password box but when you put the password in it just refreshes the pop-up. Am I missing something in the Apache httpd.conf file?
