I need Flash help from the masters!

Well, I feel extremely embarassed to be asking this. . . .

I need help with finding out why the stupid browser downloads my movie and skips the preloader, frankly I am about to ban Internet Explorer!

Here is what I am working on for a submittion on Deviant Art:

Where the f*ck did it put my preloader, seriously, why the hell is this happening!

By the way I embedded a bunch of images to make the movie larger so I could see if it ever showed the preloader, but it never did!

The .fla is right here:

Thanks in advanced masters, I am too embarassed to post this in an open forum :frowning:

Hmm, interesting.

I really have no clue, I am thinking it is maybe because it is withing a movie clip, and since that movie clip contains sound and images it is taking too long to load that movie clip and therefore won’t play it.

Just a guess, not positive. Try recreating it outside of the same movie clip.

Good Idea!!! I think that just may be the problem, thanks lostinbeta (could that have been more formal)! :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, I just tested your preloader code (not your preloader, just the code you used) on the main timeline instead of the inside the movie clip, and it worked like a charm.

So it is because everything is in one movie clip.

Dam* russian movie clips! Thanks again lost!

It sucks to have to recreate that whole thing man. Sorry.

Glad I could help though.

No big deal, about an hour of work, it should take half that to fix it, hopefully! I did it today at work in my ummmm, free time!

Hint: It’s called “research” Dan. That’s the excuse I always use for doing stuff like this at work…

Hahaha “reasearch” , thats clever.

Research… Yeah!! That’s the ticket!!!

Hey, Kit… I have a frame just aching for that art you were gonna send me… (can you see the sad eyes???)
