Is internet information service (IIS) installed on your computer to help you use it as your server? If so, do you have to use CF along with it?
I guess I can ask the rest of the relating questions once I know that I’m on the right track.

yes it is exactly for that. You need to contact Macromedia for the CF part of your question. I believe you can just install it on any machine with server capabilities including XP.
I have CF installed as it was part of mx family. How much cf involved? My primary use of IIS is just so I don’t have to upload files to a server.
not sure but I think you need to have cf server not cf studio. If I am not mistaken.
I have cf server. When I bought mx family, I could download it. I don’t own it, but I could use it.
