I'm a slaaaaaaaaaaaave for you

hey, ok, so i’m making a webpage for myself and i have a couple of questions…

  1. how do you make the webpage load at the same size for all computers (i think it’s called resolution? i’m not computer illiterate or anything, there are just random holes in my computer knowledge)
when i make the swf in flash and then put it online, it is much larger when i load it online…

  2. How do i make the html windows match the perimiters of my flash movie? when the swf loads , the window is much larger than the movie…

thanks guys… my friends are bugging me to get my site done so i’ll probably be coming on here a bunch more with more newbie questions…

ciao*

Hmm…

When you create anything in flash, in your properties panel, you can define the size of whatever you are creating. For instance, the footer on the bottom of this message. It is 300x60; there is no way to adjust it (that I know of) to change this on anyone’s computer.

If you are on a Win platform, right click anywhere and play with your ‘screen settings’ to see what other resolutions look like. It’s good to stay around the 800x600 resolution because a lot of people still use this.

Your flash movie is an object to HTML. It will be treated as such. It took me a long time to figure this out.
(-:

When you “Publish” you can designate how the html will size your movie also… you really need to play with these settings and test them out to determine which best suits your work, try different settings until you’re happy.

in the publish options you can choose to go with 100% and this (match whatever browser) will be ok unless you have images that are going to change drastically in size and thereby distort their quality…again play with them … if need be…adjust the size of your stage to a more in between them all size first, this way your images won’t be scaled too far.

If you make your movie dimensions correctly, it will scale properly. So fit it on an 800 x 600 screen to start with, then change the Publish Settings to it will scale. Now it should still fit as closely as possible on higher resolutions.

ok, thanks…
