is there any way in actionscript to change the hue, brightness, contrast etc. of an image?
Nope… hehe… Well Not in any way that I know of.
Because it’s really not suppose to do that to an “image” which I’m thinking of as a bitmap?
You could possibly simulate the effect though…
Place some color layers overtop the image and then let them change their alpha to display thge image as being darker or brighter on the bottom
