Imagin - flash photo gallery

i’ve built a sotware here. it’s a photo gallery easy to install, customize and update. designed especialy for those who want presenting a story from images and music. i have versions for online and offline use. online version uses php and mysql, and offline version uses txt files.
you can test photos without downloading, in demo section.

PD: haXe is a GNU compiler, not a languaje… so… JS or AS? xD

don’t know what means gnu(shame on me), haxe is a command line compiler, but is also a language because it has his own APIs + APIs from flash, javascript and neko and they are not 100% the same anyway. i’ve compiled to flash, you can right click on the interface.

@ralcr : if in a given commercial project ur app seem really usefull, how much would u charge if one wanted to use it?

If you have a project wich uses only the gallery, i think i’ll charge about 100$
But if it’s just a part from a website you can still use it for free.

Very simple, but doesn’t sacrifice information to achieve it. I like the gray, black and pink bar at the bottom. Nice attention to details.

If I don’t find a good full page flash tutorial soon then I’m going to punch someone in the throat.

this one i don’t understand, is just a statement, or an advice?
full flash pages are simple: you set 100% width and height from html, then set the scaleMode to “noScale”, and the alignment where you want. you can also listen for an onResize listener where you’ll rearange your objects every time the browser is resized.

btw, the sample from my website is continuously changing, it’s not what you can download. when the update will be ready i’ll anounce.

When I said “but doesn’t sacrifice information to achieve it”, I was saying that you don’t get rid of information just to make the page look simple. That was a positive comment! I like how you did everything!

Thanks .ral:cr! I played around with the stage object like you suggested. It is easy! Thank you a lot! Now I can do all kinds of things in flash that will make people jealous.

Imagin V2.1
Lot of bugs solved, and some new things were added:

  • you can add description to any file like here : http://cristi.imagin.ro/index.php?direct_link=pictures/Portraits/
  • buttons can be skined with external files, png
  • scroll when thumbs are out of scene
  • a title is displayed when you enter a gallery
  • a simple html view option at right click
  • fullscreen
  • you can run through all galleries in a single slideshow (some bugs exist when you enter a gallery with subgalleries)
  • txt files are not displayed anymore, they are used for pictures descriptions
  • because of the interest, i’ll release this days the sources for learning purpose, or recompiling. keep in mind only that is not entirely in english
