right click on my computer, left click on properties
left click on advanced tab
click on settings in startup and recovery
click edit button in startup and recover section
change your boot.ini file to something like the first one below (this is straight from the microsoft website) only changing it to “Home” where needed.
BE VERY CAREFUL…IF YOU SCREW UP YOUR BOOT.INI, YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BOOT YOU COMPUTER!!!
Sample Boot.ini File
This is a sample of a default Boot.ini file from a Windows XP Professional computer.
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS=“Microsoft Windows XP Professional” /fastdetect
This is a sample of the above Boot.ini file after adding another partition running Windows 2000 Professional.
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS=“Windows XP Professional” /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT=“Windows 2000 Professional” /fastdetect
note: this really isn’t fixing your problem, i’m just taking that boot option out so you won’t see it anymore…the info is still there actually.
