Imported sounds play at odd times

I’m working on a fairly small project that has 4 scenes. In each scene I have one or more sound files playing. In a couple scenes, there is a movie clip that has a sound playing too.

I am playing the sounds by setting a keyframe and then choosing the sound in the properties panel.

This morning I sat down to make some changes, namely making some things shorter. So I shortened up the first scene. Suddenly, there’s a sound playing in the second scene where there is no keyframe at all - it just plays all by itself.

So I decided to take the sound out of that scene entirely and move it to the next one to fix the problem. When I preview just the scene, it’s fine - no sound plays. When I preview the whole movie though - son of a gun that sound plays even though it is not there. How can this be?

I’m at my wits end with this. I’ve included a link to a zip file with the files, if you want to take a look and see what in the world is going on, I would appreciate it. I cannot imagine how a sound file can play without a command to do so, and yet it does.

The sound “zap.mp3” plays in the scene “blue” when you preview the whole movie. But look at the scene - the sound file is NOT called in there anywhere at all.

Files are at http://www.pixelmech.com/files/flashfiles.zip

Any help is appreciated…thanks.
