It’s about the 30th iteration of my 3d engine. This time, using blobs. The ‘shape’ was built at runtime. I’m trying to work out ways of making various other shapes, but I find this one particularly hypnotising.
In an earlier engine, I managed some basic shape morphing, so that is my next goal for this one, except I want it to transition from one pregenerated shape to another. I have all the theory set up in my head, I just gotta get it down to as.
Been thinking about having a thing that generates ‘real’ molecular constructs, but that’s gonna have to wait (until the 12th of never, maybe)
I’m going to convert this to a preloader, with the increasing percentage removing blobs, so when the last blob goes, the file is loaded. Or something along those lines. Like most of my recent stuff, it is pure AS, with the logo and a circle being the only items in the library. The size is <4kb, so would make a sweet, fast loading preloader.
I’m not too hot on as so i can only assume how clever that is, but i really like the colours and style you’ve chosen. Makes a nice change from the usual Flash eye candy.
here’s the preloader version. Apologies for the pic, but I just needed something quick. (I faked the dataload, mind you, because there was no real need to have real data in there, and it would only work once per web cache clearance)
practice makes perfect, mate. I didn’t just crack that out in an evening. The 3d engine alone took weeks, and that was with help. Having to relearn trigonometry was a bit of a git, though
oh the bad site might be related to the release of WinXP SP2. There have been a few warnings about tonight. It’s gonna make the slowdown on ‘counterstrike release night’ look like a drop in the ocean, so I’ve heard.
