Jpeg question a la //\\//\\//\\rk

heyall,

any idea why, sometimes, when i create jpegs in the coldcold night, they “contain errors” and “cannot be displayed”? does it have something to do with 8/16/24 bit colour? that’s right, im canadian, thats how we spell it.

thanks guys!

:opera:

??.. Cannot be displayed where? back in PS or in explorer or previewer?

sometimes photoshop, sometimes previewer… its weird. ill post the export settings for the jpeg in a second.

Here it is… prolly won’t help.

PS - this isn’t super-important or anything, it’s just been bugging me for a while…

Erase and Install

well that dialog box looks very normal to me… don’t really know what your problem could be.

oh well i guess ill let it go. thx all!

If your refering to 8/12/24 bit? does that mean you work in those bit settings?

Are you embedding it with sRGB, CYMK, Grayscale, etc?

Is it a problem with naming?

What version of PS are you using?

Are you on a Mac or PC?

You usually run into problems when making CMYK JPEGs. IE can’t display them, and I don’t think Image Preview (or whatever) can.

When saving JPEGs, it’s always best to use ctrl+alt+shift+s (save for web). It’ll convert it to 8-bit automatically.

^ best used when you want your jpg’s to be 72dpi. Save for web automatically converts to 72dpi, so if you want to retain a higher dpi you will need to save via ctl -shift-s (save as).

well, i use those settings aswell so its not that!
