Hi everybody, I’m new to this forum but I"m glad I found it. For some reason I can’t edit the jpg formats, I’ve downloaded a few pictures and I can’t use the erase to take out certain parts of the picture or anyting else as far as changing the image. Please somebody anybody please,please,please help me I would be very thankful. :hangover:

Are you trying to do it with Flash? If so, I suggest you try Photoshop or an equivalent.

The only photo shop I have is the one that came with this computer, and that is too old. I wanted to take some elements from the picture and cover some of the unwanted picture. I can’t do that with the photo shop I have, I figure since the flash 5 supports jpeg I was hoping that somebody can help me with this problem, but thanks anyway. :-\
I’m not sure if this works with flash 5, but in flash MX you can select the picture and then hit Crtl B to break the picture up then you can use the eraser tool and edit it, I hope it works for flash 5 too. =)

Yesss it works, thank you sooooo much electrongeek, your no geek in my book your the man thanks alot. =) To the Starpromo, you said that flash 5 isn’t the best for editing pictures, and when I tried to edit the picture after I broke it up, it doesn’t edit all that well, I’m trying to take out certain words so that it can look like I know what I’m doing when playing with images so it can look neat. Can you tell me of a better editor so this picture can look good?
photoshop is the best but you have already said that you dont have a new version but i pretty sure the old version could edit neater than flash can.
what image do you want to edit?
I’m trying to edit this picture of hhh he has the wwf logo on a piece of his picture and I wanted to take that off and put my name and other images over the picture.
flash really isnt the program to use…
try photoshop version you have if you know how to do it other wise upload it and im sure someone will help you out… i will if i get home in time.
The reason flash isn’t the best for editing a photo is becasue it is a vector program. It uses calcutations to make a shape. A program like photoshop is a rasterized art program perfect for editing photos because it uses pixels to create shapes. Maybe you already knew but alot of users don’t. Not the best explanation but good enough.
