I was screwing around with Photoshop and came up with this effect. I can create it with just about any shape in mind, it’s pretty easy, and you can get a good cutout of it.

Let me know what you think and how you’d apply it.
Also, if you want to know how to do it, I’d be happy to share.

I like the general idea, however, I do not like ALLLL the different colors, and I don’t know if it’s just me but the edges seem over-saturated (?). I think it would be better if you just took two contrast colors and tried it.

I agree with the edges, I was in a hurry and didn’t get to burn them enough. I’ll make another one later today with a mini-tut built in. Want any colors in particular with it?

Try something like… fire and ice, or you know, just pick a random ‘theme’ so to say.
