Keeping track of scores

I’m trying to design a simple Flash game using Flash 4. I obtained some samples of simple flash games from the net, but unfortunately, I don’t know how to keep track of the player’s score each time he/she plays. Can anyone out there help? You can reach me oliviasy@hotmail.com
