It’s not what you would think, but still interesting.
Funny you mentioned that RMB 'cause I tried pulling a mushroom out of the ground the other day and it just kept coming? There was seemingly no end to this mushroom.
The Swiss fungus is considerably smaller than another Honey Mushroom growing in the US.
Found in the Malheur national forest in Oregon, that fungus covers 890 hectares (2,200 acres) - making it the largest living organism ever discovered.
Heh, that’s funny, I got that mushroom mentioned under a Snapple Iced Tea cap last week.
he11 yeah, ours is bigger!
How big is 22,000 acres. Bigger than Rhode Island you think? I guess I ain’t from the farm country, and don’t know my acres and hectres.
wow - that is a huge mushroom. If you walk over it, could it be possible that you could fall through and get stuck in the mushroom permanently? (must visit Oregon or Switzerland to find out…)

correction not 22000 its hsould be 2200
oh…
ya…
hahahahaha
2,200 is still a lot… it’s like a small wildfire here in Cali.
Weird - the Malheur is so dry and dusty, it’s hard to imagine such a large fungus growing there and not in some of the wetter moister areas of Oregon.
:hr:
2200 acres is 95,832,000 square feet.
Well it said that most of it was underground, so I guess it wouldn’t matter.
Oh only 2,200 acres - I’m not impressed anymore
It kind of reminds me of the blob. Anybody ever see that movie? It’s just hiding underground waiting for the right time to strike.
woah, that’s weird.
Too bad it isn’t one of “those” kind of shrooms. That would be nuts!
hahahaha
I didn’t consider that angle. Could you imagine wondering around in the middle of oregon with 2200 acres of shrooms at your disposal?
*packs bags
"covering an area about the size of 35 football pitches."
right because i measure everything by how far i can throw a soccer ball…
Lol, would that be like 35 2 yard’ers?
