Lengthening a line

sorry for asking for help without contributing anything, but im in something of a tigh situation. i’m working on a flash movie for school and i need to know how to animate a line that goes from point A to B extend to point C without getting thicker. when i use timeline effects it always makes the line thicker, any help i can get would be greatly appreciated.
